Important Note: Acrylic mirrors are manufactured by applying a gray finish to one side of an extruded acrylic sheet, which is then covered with a painted backing to protect the mirror surface. Please be aware that the mirror backing can be susceptible to damage from solvents and other chemicals. We recommend testing your application with small pieces first to ensure compatibility.

  • Maintain the pristine appearance of your Purple Mirror 1020 Acrylic Sheet by leaving the protective papering on when cutting to prevent scratches.

Acrylic FAQs

Please read our frequently asked questions to find out more.

What is the difference between cast and extruded acrylic?

Most acrylic sheet is manufactured by either extrusion or cell casting.  The benefits to cell casting are small minimums and a higher molecular weight.  This results in a slightly better chemical resistance, heat resistance and clarity.  The disadvantages to cell cast is that thickness tolerance within a sheet can vary. Extruded sheets offer the user less fluctuation in thickness across sheet.
